Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Payton Samuels made the kick off which started today's match. Brynn Staggard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Navarro Fitzpatrick in the 3rd minute. Davey Haslem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Payton Samuels in the 8th minute of play forced Flinders's goalkeeper Brynn Staggard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Payton Samuels recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Navarro Fitzpatrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jamese Orourke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Marco Mudie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Jamese Orourke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Mudie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Navarro Fitzpatrick got free with Brynn Staggard in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Davey Haslem scored 0-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Mudie, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Jamese Orourke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Mudie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davey Haslem in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute of the match, Navarro Fitzpatrick got a very nice opportunity to score, but Brynn Staggard was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After the first half Flinders were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Flinders's Davey Haslem slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marco Mudie. That made the score 0-2 after 59 minutes of play. After 64 minutes of play, Longley's Navarro Fitzpatrick made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brynn Staggard was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Longley defense, Davey Haslem kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Mudie. The Longley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Mudie should have stopped the shot. In the 76th minute, Edmundson Goodwin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Randell Monck took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brynn Staggard. Flinders's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Brynn Staggard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Payton Samuels in the 78th minute of play. A collision led to Flinders getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Edmundson Goodwin hit a great ball. Navarro Fitzpatrick might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brynn Staggard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Navarro Fitzpatrick ran back to his position shaking his head. Jamese Orourke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Mudie having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Flinders walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
