Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kongolia's Corey Castray suffered a sore knee after 39 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Byrne Laws came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Kongolia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Byrne Laws couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Navarro Letsch successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Navarro Letsch was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Byrne Laws capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Byrne Laws really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Byrne Laws received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Navarro Letsch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 minutes of play, Kongolia's Byrne Laws made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Navarro Letsch was left in no man's land by his defense there! Byrne Laws sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th match minute, Newcastle United Jets was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pearce Malacarne to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United Jets's Herman Dollymore got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 80th match minute, Kongolia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berne Surman to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Duffield Thomas in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevin Roach saved Kongolia from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Kongolia's zone, Edward Goucher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevin Roach came out of the goal and Edward Goucher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kongolia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
