Bromus
Spectators: 6816 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1806, VIP seats: 10) Andy Mccormick started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 6 minutes into the game, Jarrod Beverley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bromus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monteagle the free kick. Jarrod Beverley kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Monteagle's Nash Norton got a free kick in the 9th minute. Andy Mccormick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 16 in the game by Kevin Cookesley from a close distance when the talented Brendan Atkin managed to make a qualified save. Monteagle's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Monteagle's Nichol Cordrey got a free kick in the 19th minute. Bromus's Andy Mccormick got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nichol Cordrey scored 0-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of George Park, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Aaron Voller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 36 minutes of play Bromus's Jarrod Beverley was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 48th minute Aaron Voller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Park saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Monteagle were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Aaron Voller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monteagle's supporters rose to their feet, but Aaron Voller was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George Park breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Nichol Cordrey came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Monteagle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nichol Cordrey couldn't finish the play. George Park took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nichol Cordrey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bromus! George Park went to the wrong direction when Eavan Byrnes was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Nichol Cordrey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. George Park tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Aaron Voller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 71 minutes into the match, Monteagle's Nichol Cordrey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that George Park narrowly saved just below the crossbar. George Park showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nichol Cordrey, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Nichol Cordrey struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. George Park didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monteagle. 83 minutes into the match, Bromus's goalkeeper George Park had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Berne Locke. When Monteagle's Nichol Cordrey in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bromus's goalie prevented a goal. Kevin Cookesley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Brendan Atkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anthony Bridson charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anthony Bridson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anthony Bridson kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dagan Mcgregor during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Aaron Voller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Monteagle players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
