Edison Mccartan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Paul Boserio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Gregg Potter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nilson Ross had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudolph Brooks hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After 22 minutes, Rudolph Brooks mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kotara and the Litchfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Litchfield booed when Kotara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolph Brooks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paul Boserio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gregg Potter firmly grabbed it by the left post. Nilson Ross fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edison Mccartan having to interfere. Kotara's Gregg Potter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Biggs Voller in the 28th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Biggs Voller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregg Potter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kotara's Gregg Potter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Kotara from getting a goal against them. Paul Boserio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregg Potter having to interfere. Kotara's Gregg Potter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Biggs Voller in the 39th minute of play. Nilson Ross struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Edison Mccartan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kotara. Gregg Potter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Biggs Voller, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Kotara were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute, Paul Boserio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nilson Ross might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edison Mccartan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilson Ross ran back to his position shaking his head. Kale Couzens's late challenge caught a Kotara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kale Couzens helped the player get up and apologised. Paul Boserio might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregg Potter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paul Boserio ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Biggs Voller in the 71st minute of play forced Kotara's goalkeeper Gregg Potter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Boserio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kotara's Rudolph Brooks got his second yellow card of the match in the 82nd minute. The referee ordered Rudolph Brooks off the ground. The supporters of Litchfield booed when Kotara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolph Brooks didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute, Luke Groves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jacobs Stageman took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edison Mccartan. Edison Mccartan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3.
