Spectators: 7319 (Terracing: 5819, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Berne Hanlen took the kick off in the first half of the match. Brad Curtis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Giddey having to interfere. If Brad Curtis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Berne Hanlen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phil Giddey was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Brad Curtis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brad Curtis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Phil Giddey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Brad Curtis came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Minmindie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brad Curtis couldn't finish the play. Berne Hanlen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Drake Pegler during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Waverley's Drake Pegler got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Waverley's goal looked a bit too open when Brad Curtis came free, but Phil Giddey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Berne Hanlen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Giddey having to interfere. In the 38th match minute, Waverley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernie Flesfader to maneuver through the defense. In the 40thth minute of the game Brad Curtis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Waverley's Phil Giddey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 42 played minutes Waverley got a freekick which was hit by Brant Kanack. Berne Hanlen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Giddey having to interfere. Brad Curtis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Waverley's goal looked a bit too open when Brad Curtis came free, but Phil Giddey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Murdock Surman was the one to do the kick off. Berne Hanlen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Giddey having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Berne Hanlen in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Phil Giddey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Berne Hanlen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Giddey having to interfere. When Jonathan Matthes came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Minmindie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Matthes couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berne Hanlen in the 66th minute of play forced Waverley's goalkeeper Phil Giddey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute of the match, Russell Flesfader got a very nice opportunity to score, but Phil Giddey was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 70 played minutes Minmindie got a freekick which was hit by Berne Hanlen. When Brad Curtis fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Minmindie's protests and gave Brad Curtis a yellow card for diving instead. After 74 played minutes Minmindie got a freekick which was hit by Brad Curtis. If Brad Curtis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick Maybury fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Case Trezise having to interfere. After 82 played minutes Minmindie got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Matthes. In the 84th minute, Russell Flesfader hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Patrick Maybury had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Waverley's Phil Giddey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berne Hanlen in the 95th minute of play. Phil Giddey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berne Hanlen in the 97th minute of the match. Minmindie were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
