Phenix Glover fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Weeks having to interfere. The supporters of Brooklet booed when Rockleigh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brandon Shirdon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute of the match Rick Hemsley sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paul Weeks skillfully saved the ball. In the 18th minute, Carleton Cuddihy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 20 minutes, Cregan Mudie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brooklet's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cregan Mudie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phenix Glover sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Phenix Glover ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paul Weeks was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Brendan Jobson hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 38th play minute Cregan Mudie came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Edmonds Muddle. 1-1. If Roy Teuma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phenix Glover took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paul Weeks. Paul Weeks dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Roy Teuma was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 51st minute. Rockleigh's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The Brooklet fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Brooklet's Brendan Jobson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ian Ceney charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ian Ceney the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Brooklet's Ian Ceney got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Brooklet's goalkeeper Paul Weeks, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Russel Borserio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edmonds Muddle. Rockleigh's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Paul Weeks made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Roy Teuma sent off a good shot on target. Rockleigh were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Brooklet's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rick Hemsley took the corner. Blade Conlin hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Rick Hemsley, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cregan Mudie in the 83rd minute of play forced Rockleigh's goalkeeper Edmonds Muddle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Brooklet's goal looked a bit too open when Phenix Glover came free, but Paul Weeks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute, Ian Ceney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
