Jerrard Pound struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Max Sedgman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lethbridge. 17 minutes into the match, Fanning's goal looked a bit too open when Brand Pinhey came free, but Max Sedgman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 23 minutes, Brand Pinhey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lethbridge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brand Pinhey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Clarke Dearn kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 26 minutes in the game, Bent Belford fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Edmonds Slattery having to interfere. Max Sedgman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brand Pinhey, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The audience was convinced that Jerrard Pound's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Max Sedgman was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. When Alfred Bowie came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Lethbridge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Bowie couldn't finish the play. After the first half Lethbridge were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Jerrard Pound's late challenge caught a Fanning's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerrard Pound helped the player get up and apologised. Jerrard Pound kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Randall Anders sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brand Pinhey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 66 minutes, Randall Anders managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Brand Pinhey kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Max Sedgman. That made the score 0-2 in the 70 minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Berne Mogork charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Berne Mogork the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Fanning getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Berne Mogork hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Brand Pinhey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brand Pinhey in the 93rd minute of play forced Fanning's goalkeeper Max Sedgman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jerrard Pounds short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got Max Sedgman to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the final whistle sounded Lethbridge left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fanning.
