Spectators: 6783 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 0) Lynwood's Cornelius Whittington started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Lynwood got a freekick which was hit by Antony Mcgirr. 9 minutes into the game, The Lads United's Mark Greenan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ben Convine made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Brayden Mcwilliam charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brayden Mcwilliam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Chuck Reilly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute Cornelius Whittington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brockman Freel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brockman Freel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cornelius Whittington's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Antony Mcgirr came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Brockman Freel could save by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chuck Reilly in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ben Convine saved Lynwood from getting behind. After 30 played minutes Lynwood got a freekick which was hit by Bert Bundy. In the 31st minute, Berne Waterland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in The Lads United's zone, Antony Mcgirr stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brockman Freel came out of the goal and Antony Mcgirr tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Cornelius Whittington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 played minutes, The Lads United's Norman Dorrell shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ben Convine came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in The Lads United reached it. 45 minutes into the game, The Lads United's Chuck Reilly nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ben Convine made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mark Greenan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ben Convine didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chuck Reilly went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 60th minute, Antony Mcgirr made a precise shot to the right of Brockman Freel. The Lads United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. The Lads United's Brockman Freel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornelius Whittington in the 64th minute of play. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Chuck Reilly sped through Lynwood's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ben Convine. 69 minutes into the match, Brayden Mcwilliam notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Lynwood's Ben Convine. Ben Convine was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cornelius Whittington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Brockman Freel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for The Lads United! Brockman Freel went to the wrong direction when Phil Yard was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 80 played minutes The Lads United got a freekick which was hit by Clark Czaczka. Cornelius Whittington's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brockman Freel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Brockman Freel came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Lynwood's Cornelius Whittington. But to his dismay, Cornelius Whittington quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. In the 89th minute, Mark Greenan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ben Convine, passed just outside the right post. In the 92nd minute, Clark Czaczka sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lynwood's Ben Convine didn't even have to move. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mark Greenan in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ben Convine saved Lynwood from getting behind. Bert Bundy was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of The Lads United booed when Lynwood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bert Bundy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mark Greenan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Convine having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. The Lads United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
