The Lads United's Brockman Freel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Myles Kinnaird in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Chuck Reilly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brynn Copelin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Brockman Freel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barnett Starling, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chuck Reilly might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brynn Copelin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chuck Reilly ran back to his position shaking his head. Myles Kinnaird fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brockman Freel having to interfere. Barnett Starling blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brockman Freel having to make a save. Barnett Starling recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The The Lads United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Caurnamont were winning 1-2.

55 minutes into the match, The Lads United's goal looked a bit too open when Myles Kinnaird came free, but Brockman Freel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Caurnamont booed when The Lads United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berne Waterland didn't get a good kick on the ball.
