Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rick Foley took the kick off in the first half of the match. Abbott Hanlen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amos Quelch, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Rick Foley kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Kris Schultz struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Craig Sinden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belvidere. 13 minutes into the match, Belvidere's Lauder Lord sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Craig Sinden narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Lauder Lord notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Abercorn's Craig Sinden. Craig Sinden was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lauder Lord fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Craig Sinden having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Abercorn's goalkeeper Craig Sinden had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lauder Lord. Amos Quelch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abbott Hanlen having to interfere. The supporters of Abercorn booed when Belvidere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobs Mckinley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Rick Foley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abercorn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rick Foley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th match minute, Belvidere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brian Castner to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Abercorn's Craig Sinden got control of the ball when Lauder Lord tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Abercorn's Pierre Renshaw got a free kick in the 44th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kris Schultz was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Abercorn got a freekick which was hit by Crawford Sawbridge. Amos Quelch hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. When Belvidere's Kris Schultz, in the 58th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Belvidere. When Lauder Lord came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Belvidere fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lauder Lord couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rick Foley in the 63rd minute of play forced Belvidere's goalkeeper Abbott Hanlen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amos Quelch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abbott Hanlen having to interfere. If Amos Quelch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Craig Sinden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Schultz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the match, Abercorn's goal looked a bit too open when Kris Schultz came free, but Craig Sinden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amos Quelch's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Abbott Hanlen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Abercorn's Craig Sinden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kris Schultz in the 86th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Rick Foley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abbott Hanlen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abercorn's Rick Foley got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
