Brant Andrews might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Craig Sinden. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brant Andrews ran back to his position shaking his head. Abercorn's Craig Sinden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Angell in the 4th minute of play. A collision led to Fairylands getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Al Stageman hit a great ball. Brant Andrews could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Craig Sinden made a huge save. 10 minutes into the match, Fairylands's goal looked a bit too open when Rick Foley came free, but Ike Shortus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Fairylands's zone, Rick Foley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ike Shortus came out of the goal and Rick Foley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Craig Sinden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolando Angell in the 15th minute of play. Ike Shortus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amos Quelch, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Rolando Angell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Abercorn's Craig Sinden got control of the ball when Brant Andrews tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rolando Angell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Craig Sinden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 30 played minutes, Fairylands's Isaac Markou shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Craig Sinden came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fairylands reached it. Amos Quelch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ike Shortus having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Abercorn's zone, Rolando Angell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Craig Sinden came out of the goal and Rolando Angell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brant Andrews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Craig Sinden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute Rolando Angell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Craig Sinden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Rolando Angell made the kick off in the second half. Rolando Angell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Craig Sinden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Craig Sinden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brant Andrews in the 54th minute of play. Brant Andrews fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Craig Sinden having to interfere. If Brant Andrews had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abercorn's Amos Quelch got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 71 minutes, Andrews Toomey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fairylands and the Abercorn players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st minute, Andrews Toomey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brant Andrews struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Craig Sinden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fairylands. In the 87th match minute, Fairylands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Angell to maneuver through the defense. Brant Andrews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Craig Sinden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brant Andrews, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abercorn succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Fairylands had controlled the match.
