Bleyd Weller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dalwood Quinn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the game, Dalwood Quinn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yuelba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Springhurst the free kick. After a rather tough play, Yuelba's Handley Voller got a free kick in the 18th minute. Bleyd Weller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Byron Hogan in the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute of the match Douglas Stevens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bleyd Weller skillfully saved the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Springhurst's goalkeeper Battle Devere had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Keith Coburn. In the 28th minute Dalwood Quinn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Battle Devere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Keith Coburn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yuelba's supporters rose to their feet, but Keith Coburn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Battle Devere breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Battle Devere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalwood Quinn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Dalwood Quinn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Battle Devere was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. 40 minutes into the match, Yuelba's goal looked a bit too open when Byron Hogan came free, but Bleyd Weller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dalwood Quinn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Springhurst booed when Yuelba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Long Cookesley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yuelba's Bleyd Weller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Byron Hogan in the 45th minute of play. If Byron Hogan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Dalwood Quinn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yuelba's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalwood Quinn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Battle Devere breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Keith Coburn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dalwood Quinn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Battle Devere having to interfere. After 58 minutes of play, Yuelba's Keith Coburn made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Battle Devere was left in no man's land by his defense there! Handley Voller thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Bleyd Weller, a very annoying self made goal in the 64th minute which led to 1-2. In the 68th minute, Byron Hogan fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Byron Hogan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Springhurst's John Brotherton got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jerrard Kesi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bleyd Weller having to interfere. In the 78th minute Dalwood Quinn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Battle Devere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The attack was good, but when John Brotherton in the 80th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. John Brotherton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bleyd Weller made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Byron Hogan sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers John Brotherton in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bleyd Weller saved Yuelba from getting behind. After having played for 93 minutes, Dane Tresise managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yuelba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dane Tresise was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Springhurst had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
