Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when John Brotherton got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Springhurst's goal looked a bit too open when Andre Rummens came free, but Battle Devere reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Battle Devere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brayden Woodbridge in the 4th minute of play. Clay Stanton hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After 7 played minutes Springhurst got a freekick which was hit by Jerrard Kesi. After a defensive mix-up in Springhurst's zone, Brayden Woodbridge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Battle Devere came out of the goal and Brayden Woodbridge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andre Rummens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brayden Woodbridge kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Roger Boothey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of John Brotherton's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charles Hess during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. John Brotherton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the game, one of Springhurst:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Naybethong a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Iggy Mackney, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Springhurst's Battle Devere. 0-2. With a little luck, Naybethong's Roger Boothey got control of the ball when Byron Hogan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Springhurst players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Naybethong were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brayden Woodbridge stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Springhurst's Marshal Quinnell suffered a sore thigh after 51 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 52nd minute, Paz Maybury hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Springhurst's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Brayden Woodbridge 54 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. Roger Boothey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Byron Hogan, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Byron Hogan in the 60th minute of play forced Naybethong's goalkeeper Roger Boothey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Andre Rummens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Battle Devere. Springhurst's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andre Rummens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 72nd minute, Naybethong's Brayden Woodbridge ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Battle Devere. Battle Devere yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. If John Brotherton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Wilde's late challenge caught a Springhurst's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Richard Wilde helped the player get up and apologised. After 82 played minutes Naybethong got a freekick which was hit by Richard Wilde. Andre Rummens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Battle Devere having to interfere. Battle Devere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brayden Woodbridge in the 87th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Andre Rummens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Byron Hogan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Springhurst's supporters rose to their feet, but Byron Hogan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Boothey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Andre Rummens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Naybethong had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
