Corder Fessa's late challenge caught a Springhurst's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Springhurst's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Brotherton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Alvin Crampton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oakvale's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvin Crampton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by John Brotherton in the 91st minute of play forced Oakvale's goalkeeper Cullen Perrett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 minutes, Larkin Smoothey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oakvale and the Springhurst players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Larkin Smoothey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 94 minutes into the game, one of Oakvale:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 99th minute, John Brotherton fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cullen Perrett, passed just outside the right post.
