Bruce Wittber was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bruce Wittber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bran Bennett in the 7th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mingoola's zone, Parker Bowie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philip Luckham came out of the goal and Parker Bowie tried to chip the ball over his head. Bran Bennett took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruce Wittber. Bruce Wittber dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Bruce Wittber stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bran Bennett's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Hynam's Bruce Wittber proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Hynam from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bran Bennett in the 36th minute of play forced Hynam's goalkeeper Bruce Wittber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodd Woodbridge got free with Bruce Wittber in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rodney Staworowski hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Duffield Adair kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. When Rodd Woodbridge came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Mingoola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodd Woodbridge couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Ike Mcgrath's late challenge caught a Hynam's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ike Mcgrath helped the player get up and apologised. Bran Bennett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the match, Bran Bennett notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Hynam's Bruce Wittber. When Duffield Adair came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Mingoola fans jumped to their feet. Bran Bennett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruce Wittber read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. After having played for 81 minutes, Bran Bennett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mingoola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bran Bennett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodd Woodbridge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 85 minutes, Billy Norden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hynam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Billy Norden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Billy Norden got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mingoola had won after a very even match.
