Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Waaia's Bryan Brotherton started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bryan Brotherton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damon Turnor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alford Rann in the 12th minute of the match. Earle Rhoades made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Humphry Rishton sent off a good shot on target. Waaia were furious when Dalwood Tebby was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 17th match minute, Waaia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dalwood Tebby to maneuver through the defense. Waaia's Earle Rhoades proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Waaia from getting a goal against them. Earle Rhoades was a little too slow when Archie Fulton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-0. 27 minutes into the match, Waaia's goal looked a bit too open when Archie Fulton came free, but Earle Rhoades reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raymond Petersen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Earle Rhoades having to interfere. Bryan Brotherton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Waaia's Bryan Brotherton in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Boya's goalie prevented a goal. Earle Rhoades showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Archie Fulton, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Earle Rhoades made an important save on a dangerous shot by Humphry Rishton in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Archie Fulton to strike the kick off in the second half. The Waaia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. 92 minutes into the match, Waaia's goal looked a bit too open when Humphry Rishton came free, but Earle Rhoades reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 94 minutes of play, Boya's Humphry Rishton made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Earle Rhoades was left in no man's land by his defense there!
