Todd Adamson's late challenge caught a Burnbank's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Todd Adamson helped the player get up and apologised. Adam Bonham charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adam Bonham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th match minute, Lannercost was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Bonham to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the match, Burnbank's Bernie Burton broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Darren Fitzpatrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barnett Samuels having to interfere. After 18 played minutes, Burnbank's Kris Mapps shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Barnett Samuels came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Burnbank reached it. Everitt Brennan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ace Grandison having to interfere. The supporters of Burnbank booed when Lannercost was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Bonham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barnett Samuels made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jason Hayward in the 26th minute. After 28 played minutes Lannercost got a freekick which was hit by Stewart Grieve. Jason Hayward fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barnett Samuels having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Darren Fitzpatrick reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Barnett Samuels. The goal made the score 1-1. With a little luck, Lannercost's Barnett Samuels got control of the ball when Jason Hayward tried to sneak it across the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Lannercost's goal looked a bit too open when Darren Fitzpatrick came free, but Barnett Samuels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barnett Samuels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darren Fitzpatrick, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

The wind increased when Darren Fitzpatrick made the kick off in the second half. Jason Hayward sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jason Hayward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lannercost's Barnett Samuels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jason Hayward in the 70th minute of play. Darren Fitzpatrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barnett Samuels having to interfere. Douglas Delahide's late challenge caught a Burnbank's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lannercost's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darren Fitzpatrick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Luck Dobson hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Darren Fitzpatrick ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Barnett Samuels was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. 91 minutes into the match, Darren Fitzpatrick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barnett Samuels. Lannercost's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darren Fitzpatrick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. Burnbank's Jason Hayward got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Darren Fitzpatrick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Burnbank fully deserved thier win.
