Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Melbourne Black Cats's Oliver Staworowski started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. BGM United's Amos Pegrum got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matthews Fazey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jervis Glover, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amos Pegrum got free with Matthews Fazey in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jervis Glover in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matthews Fazey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Matthews Fazey came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by BGM United's Amos Pegrum. But to his dismay, Amos Pegrum quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Bernie Fenwick fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BGM United's protests and gave Bernie Fenwick a yellow card for diving instead. Bernie Fenwick hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. When Oliver Staworowski came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Melbourne Black Cats fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oliver Staworowski couldn't finish the play. Caine Fazey was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Phenix Thomas's late challenge caught a Melbourne Black Cats's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Phenix Thomas helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, BGM United's Phenix Thomas got a free kick in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amos Pegrum got free with Matthews Fazey in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Matthews Fazey managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when BGM United's Amos Pegrum fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Amos Pegrum managed to get in a good position for a shot. BGM United's supporters rose to their feet, but Amos Pegrum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matthews Fazey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Jervis Glover's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matthews Fazey was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Jervis Glover received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Matthews Fazey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 39 played minutes Melbourne Black Cats got a freekick which was hit by Larkins Crampton. Matthews Fazey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amos Pegrum in the 43rd minute. Matthews Fazey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jervis Glover's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jervis Glover made a kick off. Oliver Staworowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Logan Moon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jason Cridland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Melbourne Black Cats's Drew Mcmurchie shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 59th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Logan Moon but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Staworowski in the 63rd minute of play forced BGM United's goalkeeper Logan Moon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jervis Glover had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 played minutes Melbourne Black Cats got a freekick which was hit by Larkins Crampton. Matthews Fazey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amos Pegrum's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Melbourne Black Cats's zone, Jervis Glover stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matthews Fazey came out of the goal and Jervis Glover tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Amos Pegrum came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the BGM United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amos Pegrum couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute, Amos Pegrum ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matthews Fazey was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Matthews Fazey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amos Pegrum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the game, Jervis Glover cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Matthews Fazey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 89 minutes, Remy Foley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Melbourne Black Cats and the BGM United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, Remy Foley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, Amos Pegrum notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Melbourne Black Cats's Matthews Fazey. Matthews Fazey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Larkins Crampton charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Larkins Crampton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The BGM United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Melbourne Black Cats had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
