Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 0) Eliot Rear made the kick off and thus started the match. Eliot Rear received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Isaac Clist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isaac Clist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stew Dobbing in the 17th minute of play. Eliot Rear sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Berke Hart's late challenge caught a Island of Ferns's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Berke Hart helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Broadwater's Berke Hart got a free kick in the 19th minute. Stew Dobbing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Isaac Clist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Broadwater's goal looked a bit too open when Eliot Rear came free, but Isaac Clist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Eliot Rear had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Isaac Clist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stew Dobbing, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Eliot Rear fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaac Clist having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
After a defensive mix-up in Broadwater's zone, Eliot Rear stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaac Clist came out of the goal and Eliot Rear tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnie Sibbold during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliot Rear in the 60th minute of play forced Broadwater's goalkeeper Isaac Clist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute Eliot Rear shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaac Clist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Broadwater's goalkeeper Isaac Clist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stew Dobbing. Eliot Rear struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Isaac Clist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Island of Ferns. Broadwater's Isaac Clist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Broadwater from getting a goal against them. In the 81stth minute of the game Eliot Rear who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Broadwater's Isaac Clist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eliot Rear was extremely unlucky when he, in the 86th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Isaac Clist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliot Rear, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 93 minutes into the match, Broadwater's goalkeeper Isaac Clist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stew Dobbing. Eliot Rear fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaac Clist having to interfere. Island of Ferns played a much better game than Broadwater and deserved their victory. The Broadwater players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
