Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Larry Whatman started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 6th minute, Joseph Krause sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Koriella's Dugald Wood didn't even have to move. A collision led to Koriella getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Dwight Oconnell hit a great ball. Dacosta Cubit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dugald Wood having to interfere. Larry Whatman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Bouer having to interfere. If Larry Whatman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Koriella getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Ivan Laycock hit a great ball. Dugald Wood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joseph Krause, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Phoenix's zone, Jess Swan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George Bouer came out of the goal and Jess Swan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dugald Wood came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix's Joseph Krause. But to his dismay, Joseph Krause quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 38th minute Dacosta Cubit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dugald Wood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boyde Shortus's late challenge caught a Koriella's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Boyde Shortus helped the player get up and apologised. Jess Swan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Bouer having to interfere. George Bouer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Larry Whatman in the 43rd minute of the match. Jess Swan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. George Bouer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, Phoenix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dario Ancell to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joseph Krause to make the kick off. Dacosta Cubit recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute, Dario Ancell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Larry Whatman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phoenix's Joseph Krause was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 67th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. With an all-out effort, Phoenix's Dugald Wood threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joseph Krause, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. George Bouer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Larry Whatman in the 79th minute of the match. In the 87th match minute, Koriella was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brendon Mills to maneuver through the defense. 89 minutes into the match, Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Jess Swan came free, but George Bouer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jess Swan in the 97th minute of play forced Phoenix's goalkeeper George Bouer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Phoenix eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
