Taurunum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aaron Byrnes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute, Peter Locke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rufus Rose made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Bryson Beckwith managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kuringup's supporters rose to their feet, but Bryson Beckwith was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The referee ignored Taurunum's protests and gave Edmonds Paynter a yellow card for diving instead. Ozzie Barclay came out of the goal and Bryson Beckwith tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rufus Rose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ozzie Barclay having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Kuringup left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Taurunum.
