Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Paz Connolly kicked off to start the match. In the 2nd match minute, Montero United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Earle Brooks to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Montero United's zone, Paz Connolly stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Grant Vaisey came out of the goal and Paz Connolly tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Paz Connolly came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Kalgoorlie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paz Connolly couldn't finish the play. In the 7thth minute of the game Paz Connolly who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montero United's Grant Vaisey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Michael Lascelles managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Montero United's Dacosta Hemsley fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 15th minute, Bo Renny made a precise shot to the right of Michael Lascelles. Kalgoorlie's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Michael Lascelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dacosta Hemsley in the 20th minute of the match. Nichol Isaac kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kalgoorlie's goalkeeper Michael Lascelles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nichol Isaac charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nichol Isaac the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nichol Isaac kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Bo Renny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Kalgoorlie's Michael Lascelles got control of the ball when Bo Renny tried to sneak it across the goal line. Earle Brooks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Lascelles having to interfere. Michael Lascelles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bo Renny in the 40th minute. With his leg Michael Lascelles managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Montero United's Bo Renny fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Brett Twite's late challenge caught a Montero United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brett Twite helped the player get up and apologised. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dacosta Hemsley to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bo Renny in the 57th minute of play forced Kalgoorlie's goalkeeper Michael Lascelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 60 minutes, Dacosta Hemsley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montero United and the Kalgoorlie players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Kalgoorlie booed when Montero United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dacosta Hemsley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Montero United's zone, Brand Hinwood stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Grant Vaisey came out of the goal and Brand Hinwood tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Bo Renny managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montero United's supporters rose to their feet, but Bo Renny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Lascelles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Montero United's Bo Renny in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kalgoorlie's goalie prevented a goal. Dacosta Hemsley was shown his second yellow card after 79 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Bo Renny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Michael Lascelles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michael Lascelles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Earle Brooks, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Montero United's Bo Renny got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Earle Brooks recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Montero United's Grant Vaisey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paz Connolly in the 91st minute of play. If Brand Hinwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 95th minute by Paz Connolly got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Earle Brooks hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Montero United's Rob Schutt got a free kick in the 100th minute. Montero United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
