Cliff Benton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ringo Travers, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. Blza FC NZ's Cliff Benton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ringo Travers in the 8th minute of play. Duffield Busst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Cliff Benton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Brookfield's Ringo Travers ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cliff Benton. Cliff Benton yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After 27 played minutes Brookfield got a freekick which was hit by Paco Kennedy. Ringo Travers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cliff Benton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ringo Travers in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of Brookfield booed when Blza FC NZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred Addison didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute Russ Hoey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humphry Minton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Duffield Busst could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Cliff Benton made a huge save. Ringo Travers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ringo Travers to strike the kick off in the second half. Jackson Jeavons struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Humphry Minton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blza FC NZ. Jackson Jeavons in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Ringo Travers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brookfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Ringo Travers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cliff Benton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cliff Benton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paco Kennedy in the 98th minute of play. Ringo Travers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 101st minute. Cliff Benton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Brookfield were the better team. Brookfield's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
