Spectators: 7713 (Terracing: 5786, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 153) Russ Hoey started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Blza FC NZ's goalkeeper Cliff Benton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cliff Benton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paz Connolly, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After a rather tough play, Blza FC NZ's Jackson Jeavons got a free kick in the 8th minute. Kalgoorlie's Paz Connolly got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 16 played minutes Blza FC NZ got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Addison. When Battle Rennie fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kalgoorlie's protests and gave Battle Rennie a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Kalgoorlie:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Blza FC NZ:s goal. 21 minutes into the match, Stewart Beaverley notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Kalgoorlie's Michael Lascelles. Michael Lascelles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Russ Hoey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Lascelles having to interfere. Paz Connolly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jackson Jeavons received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Michael Lascelles came out and tried to block the shot, but Jackson Jeavons slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 31st minute. Blza FC NZ's Cliff Benton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brand Hinwood in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Paz Connolly ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cliff Benton was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Paz Connolly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Cliff Benton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Brand Hinwood had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cliff Benton. Blza FC NZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brand Hinwood was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Paz Connolly made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Brand Hinwood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jackson Jeavons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the match, Russ Hoey notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Kalgoorlie's Michael Lascelles. Michael Lascelles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Brand Hinwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Michael Lascelles came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Blza FC NZ's Russ Hoey. But to his dismay, Russ Hoey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. 74 minutes into the match, Blza FC NZ's goalkeeper Cliff Benton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brand Hinwood. Paz Connolly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Cliff Benton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Blza FC NZ's goal looked a bit too open when Paz Connolly came free, but Cliff Benton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Brand Hinwood came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Kalgoorlie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brand Hinwood couldn't finish the play. Brand Hinwood could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Cliff Benton made a huge save. With a little luck, Blza FC NZ's Cliff Benton got control of the ball when Brand Hinwood tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paz Connolly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Cliff Benton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Brand Hinwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cliff Benton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paz Connolly in the 95th minute of the match. Gregg Callaghan kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Brand Hinwood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Blza FC NZ support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
