Eccleston's Baxter Hursey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Boothey in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Ernest Gruer notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rangal's Clifford Terris. Clifford Terris was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Clifford Terris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest Gruer in the 25th minute of the match. Ernest Gruer struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Clifford Terris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eccleston. In the 32nd minute Ernest Gruer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clifford Terris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernest Gruer in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clifford Terris prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Bern Inwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Allen Anderson kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Rangal's Clifford Terris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernest Gruer in the 48th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ernest Gruer to strike the kick off in the second half. Clifford Terris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest Gruer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute of the match Kyle Kean sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Baxter Hursey skillfully saved the ball. In the 79th minute Herbert Boothey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baxter Hursey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baxter Hursey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corbett Turnor in the 82nd minute of play. Clifford Terris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernest Gruer, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Eccleston's Baxter Hursey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corbett Turnor in the 86th minute of play. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rangal's goalkeeper Clifford Terris, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Eccleston supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Eccleston would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
