The tension between the Goat United and the Lourdes F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Brooks Mcquinn hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. A collision led to Lourdes F.C getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Bud Hitchen hit a great ball. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lourdes F.C's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Brooks Mcquinn was slow to take the kick. During this time Goat United's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Brooks Mcquinn almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Lourdes F.C's Norm Sibbold did a great save. Eddy Bromfield in the 62ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Norm Sibbold, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 84th of the match, Eddy Bromfield tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Norm Sibbold got in the way and made a wonderful save. When Eddy Bromfield came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Goat United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddy Bromfield couldn't finish the play. Rusty Hitchen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norm Sibbold having to interfere. If Eddy Bromfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rusty Hitchen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Norm Sibbold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Goat United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
