Rusty Lovis kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Lourdes F.C's Benney Mcenally sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baxter Hursey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Evan Mckinley might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baxter Hursey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evan Mckinley ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Lourdes F.C booed when Eccleston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnold Palmington didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lourdes F.C's Norm Sibbold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernest Gruer in the 20th minute of play. Earl Pike was slow to take the kick. During this time Eccleston's players had a chance to rest. Eccleston's Earl Pike was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Norm Sibbold in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ernest Gruer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bern Inwood in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norm Sibbold saved Lourdes F.C from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Lourdes F.C's zone, Ernest Gruer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norm Sibbold came out of the goal and Ernest Gruer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raleigh Hamilton during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Ernest Gruer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Norm Sibbold was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Bern Inwood recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Benney Mcenally came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Lourdes F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benney Mcenally couldn't finish the play. The Lourdes F.C players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Eccleston were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evan Mckinley to strike the kick off in the second half. If Ernest Gruer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 63 in the game by Bern Inwood from a close distance when the talented Norm Sibbold managed to make a qualified save. Lourdes F.C's players were relieved. 64 minutes into the match, Ernest Gruer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Norm Sibbold, 0-2. Brennan Mckay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Norm Sibbold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Bradford Diefenbach was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lourdes F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eccleston the free kick. 70 minutes into the game, one of Lourdes F.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Benney Mcenally received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Baxter Hursey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 86 minutes, Ernest Gruer made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Lourdes F.C's Norm Sibbold tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Eccleston's Bern Inwood was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 89th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Lourdes F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Ernest Gruer came free, but Norm Sibbold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Norm Sibbold came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Eccleston's Bern Inwood. But to his dismay, Bern Inwood quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. Eccleston's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
