The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eddy Christina kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Carmichael Huntington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Keato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Eddy Christina kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luke Butterworth. That made the score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. Cobbadah's Luke Butterworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eddy Christina in the 28th minute of play. Carter Ridding came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Luke Butterworth could save by the left post. Cobbadah's Carmichael Huntington got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carmichael Huntington in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dan Keato saved Hatherleigh from getting behind. The supporters of Hatherleigh booed when Cobbadah was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ren Goodwin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 59th minute Carmichael Huntington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Keato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 1-2 became the score in the 61st minute when Carmichael Huntington elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Cobbadah's Ren Goodwin got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Carmichael Huntington blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dan Keato having to make a save. Carter Ridding sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carmichael Huntington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Dan Keato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th match minute, Hatherleigh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brand Willis to maneuver through the defense. Cobbadah's Ren Goodwin got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carter Ridding fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luke Butterworth having to interfere.
