Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Larry Mitchell got the match started through his kick off. Dan Keato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Allcock in the 3rd minute of play. After 7 played minutes Hatherleigh got a freekick which was hit by Barry Trevena. 7 minutes into the match, Hatherleigh's goalkeeper Dan Keato had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darin Kaine. A sloppy throw-in by Duffield Arkinstall in the 9th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Quandary's Edgar Bleazard. An unexpectedly hard shot by Larry Mitchell in the 11th minute of play forced Hatherleigh's goalkeeper Dan Keato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Carter Ridding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Edgar Bleazard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Larry Mitchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Duffield Arkinstall in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Quandary's Burns Willding. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carleton Neich got free with Dan Keato in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Larry Mitchell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carleton Neich could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Dan Keato made a huge save. Douglas Adamson's late challenge caught a Quandary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Douglas Adamson helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Hatherleigh got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Adamson. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carleton Neich in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dan Keato saved Hatherleigh from getting behind. Larry Mitchell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dan Keato having to make a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eddy Christina to make the kick off. After 56 minutes Hatherleigh's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Darin Kaine who took care of the corner kick. Quandary's Carleton Neich got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Burns Willding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Carleton Neich came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Quandary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carleton Neich couldn't finish the play. Hatherleigh's Dan Keato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Allcock in the 69th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Quandary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Burns Willding to maneuver through the defense. If Carleton Neich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dan Keato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darin Kaine in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94thth minute of the game Carleton Neich who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hatherleigh's Dan Keato was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Burns Willding's late challenge caught a Hatherleigh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Burns Willding helped the player get up and apologised. Burns Willding hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the final whistle went the supporters of Hatherleigh were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Quandary side.
