Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bock Batterham started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cliff Oreilly got free with Bjorn Triplett in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Barnard Orr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bock Batterham in the 7th minute of the match. Bjorn Triplett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregory Blagburn, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Kooroongarra's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elwood the free kick. In the 20th match minute, Kooroongarra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clifford Laing to maneuver through the defense. After 21 played minutes, Elwood's Stephan Hitchen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bjorn Triplett came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Elwood reached it. Cliff Oreilly might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bjorn Triplett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cliff Oreilly ran back to his position shaking his head. Cliff Oreilly succeeded in the game's 26th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. 31 minutes into the match, Kooroongarra's goalkeeper Bjorn Triplett had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cliff Oreilly. Gregory Blagburns short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Bjorn Triplett to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gregory Blagburn in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bjorn Triplett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute, Cliff Oreilly fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bjorn Triplett, passed just outside the right post. Clifford Laing hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Cliff Oreilly recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gregory Blagburn to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Cliff Oreilly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clifford Laing kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Cliff Oreilly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gregory Blagburn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Bjorn Triplett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clifford Laing hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Lawrance Virgin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Elwood's Cliff Oreilly in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kooroongarra's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Kooroongarra's Andres Lowes got a free kick in the 69th minute. Andres Lowes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Barnard Orr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bjorn Triplett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cliff Oreilly, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. During the 83rd minute of the match Clifford Laing completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Clifford Laing a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Kooroongarra's Clifford Laing got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Aron Quigley's late challenge caught a Kooroongarra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aron Quigley helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes Elwood got a freekick which was hit by Aron Quigley. Aron Quigley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kooroongarra's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
