The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Dalton Hunter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Cassidy Turnor was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 7th minute, Dalton Hunter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cassidy Turnor didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 20th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. Barnett Plank blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Buchanan Roach having to make a save. Antonia Wittber kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reese Mcmillan in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Buchanan Roach saved Andover from getting behind. Cassidy Turnor made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Dalton Hunter sent off a good shot on target. Fletcher Blackham charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fletcher Blackham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fletcher Blackham kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. With a little luck, Motueka FC's Cassidy Turnor got control of the ball when Dalton Hunter tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cassidy Turnor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remington Kennedy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Andover booed when Motueka FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fletcher Blackham didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Douglas Lorenz sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Cassidy Turnor threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Douglas Lorenz this time. If Reese Mcmillan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Barnett Plank stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Barnett Plank struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Buchanan Roach didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Motueka FC. Douglas Lorenz shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 68th minute of the match, Barnett Plank tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Buchanan Roach saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barnett Plank in the 70th minute of play forced Andover's goalkeeper Buchanan Roach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remington Kennedy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cassidy Turnor having to interfere. Douglas Lorenz hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute, Motueka FC's Barnett Plank ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Buchanan Roach. Buchanan Roach yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Buchanan Roach took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barnett Plank, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remington Kennedy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Cassidy Turnor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Barnett Plank had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barnett Plank blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Buchanan Roach having to make a save. Buchanan Roach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barnett Plank in the 95th minute of play. Andover were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
