Bryden Johnson started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Collingwood's goal looked a bit too open when Bryden Johnson came free, but Berke Curtis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tom Holdsworth scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Berke Curtis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 8 minutes into the match, Collingwood's goal looked a bit too open when Nash Kile came free, but Berke Curtis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Berke Curtis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryden Johnson in the 9th minute of the match. Berke Curtis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nash Kile in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute Tom Holdsworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Berke Curtis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Collingwood's Berke Sobezak slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Duke Quinane. That made the score 1-1 after 16 minutes of play. Berkeley Nurthen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duke Quinane having to interfere. Berkeley Nurthen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Duke Quinane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Berkeley Nurthen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Collingwood booed when Buchanan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryden Johnson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Berkeley Nurthen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duke Quinane having to interfere. In the 30th minute Berke Sobezak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duke Quinane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Buchanan's Duke Quinane got control of the ball when Berkeley Nurthen tried to sneak it across the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Collingwood's Rodd Buckland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duke Quinane narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Berkeley Nurthen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Berkeley Nurthen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Duke Quinane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Berke Sobezak stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match, Adolph Biddell got a very nice opportunity to score, but Berke Curtis was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Duke Quinane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berkeley Nurthen in the 56th minute of play. Berke Curtis made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Tom Holdsworth sent off a good shot on target. Duke Quinane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berkeley Nurthen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Duke Quinane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berkeley Nurthen in the 71st minute of play. Berkeley Nurthen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duke Quinane having to interfere. Collingwood's Berkeley Nurthen got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Belton Hopkins kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Duke Quinane stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Berke Sobezak's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. If Berkeley Nurthen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
