The supporters of The comeback kids booed when Lawnswood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fleming Willis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Russel Renny in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dan Hunter, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Doyle Thomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Doyle Thomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Doyle Thomas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Doyle Thomas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Hunter having to interfere. Dan Hunter didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Russel Renny went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. When Fleming Willis came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Lawnswood fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fleming Willis couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Doyle Thomas to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of The comeback kids booed when Lawnswood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barnes Eicke didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Hale Nurthen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Russel Renny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Hunter having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Jasmine Spinder managed to get in a good position for a shot. The comeback kids's supporters rose to their feet, but Jasmine Spinder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dan Hunter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Doyle Thomas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Dan Hunter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doyle Thomas in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dan Hunter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in The comeback kids's zone, Hale Nurthen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Connell came out of the goal and Hale Nurthen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82ndth minute of the game Russel Renny who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lawnswood's Dan Hunter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 90th minute, Doyle Thomas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ollie Bohn hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Lawnswood's Conner Weatherby couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for The comeback kids. 99 minutes into the match, Ollie Bohn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dan Hunter. Lawnswood's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ollie Bohn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The comeback kids's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
