Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Bryden Johnson got the match started through his kick off. Nash Kile sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Duke Quinane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Byrne Beverley, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 11th match minute, Wogarl was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edwards Block to maneuver through the defense. After 12 played minutes Wogarl got a freekick which was hit by Paul Greenan. Lawrance Addison charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lawrance Addison the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lawrance Addison kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Bryden Johnson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abbott Bowen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wogarl's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Bryden Johnson scored to the left of an out of position Abbott Bowen, making the score, 1-0. Byrne Beverley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tom Holdsworth got free with Abbott Bowen in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paul Greenan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Duke Quinane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tom Holdsworth came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Buchanan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tom Holdsworth couldn't finish the play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Byrne Beverley to strike the kick off in the second half. Abbott Bowen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryden Johnson in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Bryden Johnson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bryden Johnson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abbott Bowen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Buchanan's Bryden Johnson got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Belton Hopkins fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buchanan's protests and gave Belton Hopkins a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Wogarl booed when Buchanan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belton Hopkins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Byrne Beverley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute, Buchanan's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Paul Greenan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Bryden Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute Bryden Johnson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abbott Bowen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wogarl's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
