After having played for 12 minutes, Dagan Reynolds managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melbourne City 2030's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dagan Reynolds was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Melbourne City 2030 getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Case Waterland hit a great ball. Emilian Stârcea didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 25th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Andrews Boneheyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Case Waterland in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Jonty White hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Emilian Stârcea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Case Waterland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Andrews Boneheyo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Case Waterland, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Case Waterland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Andrews Boneheyo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Case Waterland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Case Waterland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Case Waterland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrews Boneheyo having to interfere. Nichol Coleman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrews Boneheyo having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Case Waterland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrews Boneheyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Winterbourne getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Benedict Addison hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abbott Hollis was the one to do the kick off. Abbott Hollis kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Nichol Coleman hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Kevin Notley sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Melbourne City 2030's Emilian Stârcea didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abbott Hollis in the 71st minute of play forced Melbourne City 2030's goalkeeper Emilian Stârcea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emilian Stârcea came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Winterbourne's Abbott Hollis. But to his dismay, Abbott Hollis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Case Waterland struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Andrews Boneheyo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Melbourne City 2030. Emilian Stârcea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carl Gummow in the 89th minute of play. If Abbott Hollis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 92 minutes into the match, Melbourne City 2030's goal looked a bit too open when Carl Gummow came free, but Emilian Stârcea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abbott Hollis in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emilian Stârcea prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
