The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Bert Johnson made the kick off in the second half. Edwardo Ross recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edwardo Ross sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bert Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the match, Bacchus Marsh FC's Pearce Belford sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Battle Block narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 68 minutes into the game, Dan Wittber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmerston North Pirates's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bacchus Marsh FC the free kick. A collision led to Palmerston North Pirates getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Bjorn Petersen hit a great ball. When the match had been going on for 77 minutes, Bacchus Marsh FC's Crawford Cowdell got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Battle Block. Pearce Belford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 85 minutes in the game, Pearce Belford fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Battle Block having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Edwardo Ross shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rod Walkington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Randolph Magnay blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Battle Block having to make a save. Palmerston North Pirates's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
