Spectators: 7498 (Terracing: 5998, Seating: 1499, VIP seats: 1) Hamos Heroes's Baxter Limmer started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Baxter Limmer came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Hamos Heroes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baxter Limmer couldn't finish the play. Ren Nolan's late challenge caught a Hamos Heroes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ren Nolan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, Ren Nolan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baxter Limmer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Rod Walkington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bacchus Marsh FC's goalkeeper Rod Walkington, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Willis during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Byron Connolly made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Pearce Belford sent off a good shot on target. Pearce Belford struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Byron Connolly didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bacchus Marsh FC. After a rather tough play, Hamos Heroes's Benedict Clark got a free kick in the 27th minute. Randolph Magnay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Byron Connolly read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Rod Walkington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darell Weatherby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baxter Limmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rod Walkington having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Hamos Heroes's goalkeeper Byron Connolly had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pearce Belford. Randolph Magnay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 42 played minutes Hamos Heroes got a freekick which was hit by Ren Laycock. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Randolph Magnay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bacchus Marsh FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Randolph Magnay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Byron Connolly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bacchus Marsh FC's Rod Walkington played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darell Weatherby in the 46th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Bacchus Marsh FC's goal looked a bit too open when Darell Weatherby came free, but Rod Walkington reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Hamos Heroes's Byron Connolly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artie Quigley in the 54th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Hamos Heroes's Rod Walkington threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Baxter Limmer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Randolph Magnay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baxter Limmer in the 59th minute of play forced Bacchus Marsh FC's goalkeeper Rod Walkington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Byron Connolly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Randolph Magnay in the 60th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ren Laycock during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rod Walkington showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baxter Limmer, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Pearce Belford struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Byron Connolly didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bacchus Marsh FC. After a defensive mix-up in Bacchus Marsh FC's zone, Darell Weatherby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rod Walkington came out of the goal and Darell Weatherby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rod Walkington didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Darell Weatherby went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Baxter Limmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rod Walkington having to interfere. Baxter Limmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
