After a rather tough play, Gold Coast FC's Damon Peplow got a free kick in the 2nd minute. With a little luck, Gold Coast FC's Murphey Mcroberts got control of the ball when Jarvis Goodwin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edmund Hodson might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnie Alcock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmund Hodson ran back to his position shaking his head. Damon Peplow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Perilya's Zackery Hodgson got a free kick in the 9th minute. After 12 played minutes Gold Coast FC got a freekick which was hit by Damian Dowsing. After 14 played minutes Perilya got a freekick which was hit by Bud Mealmaker. Edmund Hodson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnie Alcock having to interfere. If Damon Peplow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gold Coast FC's attentive Buchanan Quinn managed to snatch the ball when Larkin Swan made a throw-in in the 19th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmund Hodson in the 21st minute of play forced Perilya's goalkeeper Arnie Alcock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 22 minutes of play, Gold Coast FC's Edmund Hodson made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnie Alcock was left in no man's land by his defense there! Perilya's Clark Blestowe got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th match minute, Gold Coast FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Buchanan Quinn to maneuver through the defense. Murphey Mcroberts acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 34th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Corey Starling. In the 38th minute, Damon Peplow got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Damian Dowsing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Murphey Mcroberts successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 47 minutes into the game, Gold Coast FC's Damon Peplow nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnie Alcock made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After the first half Gold Coast FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Damon Peplow made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Larkin Swan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Murphey Mcroberts skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Gold Coast FC's Damon Peplow got a free kick in the 59th minute. After a rather tough play, Perilya's Bud Mealmaker got a free kick in the 64th minute. After 66 minutes of play, Gold Coast FC's Edmund Hodson made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnie Alcock was left in no man's land by his defense there! Buchanan Quinn kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. If Damon Peplow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72 played minutes Perilya got a freekick which was hit by Bud Mealmaker. Arnie Alcock came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Gold Coast FC's Edmund Hodson. But to his dismay, Edmund Hodson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. 78 minutes into the match, Gold Coast FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jarvis Goodwin came free, but Murphey Mcroberts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute of the match Corey Starling shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Murphey Mcroberts showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Arnie Alcock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damon Peplow in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 93rd match minute, Perilya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bud Mealmaker to maneuver through the defense. Zackery Hodgson's late challenge caught a Gold Coast FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zackery Hodgson helped the player get up and apologised.
