A very good chance for a goal. Andrew Kaine kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Arnie Alcock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benny Veitch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If John Leyden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Benny Veitch reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arnie Alcock. The goal made the score 1-0. Jarvis Goodwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Duncan Alcock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Clark Blestowe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duncan Alcock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Perilya's Jarvis Goodwin in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ootha's goalie prevented a goal. Jarvis Goodwin struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Duncan Alcock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perilya. Duncan Alcock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarvis Goodwin in the 42nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Benny Veitch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benny Veitch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Perilya defense, John Leyden kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnie Alcock. The Perilya fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnie Alcock should have stopped the shot. In the 56th minute Benny Veitch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnie Alcock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarvis Goodwin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duncan Alcock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Clark Blestowe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duncan Alcock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clark Blestowe, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Jarvis Goodwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Corey Starling's late challenge caught a Ootha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Corey Starling helped the player get up and apologised. Bremen Huff shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Benny Veitch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Clark Blestowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Alcock having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Ootha's goalkeeper Duncan Alcock had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jarvis Goodwin. 93 minutes into the game, Larkin Swan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perilya's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ootha the free kick. After 93 played minutes Perilya got a freekick which was hit by Larkin Swan. Jarvis Goodwin took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Duncan Alcock. Duncan Alcock dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1.
