After 22 minutes, Benny Dillon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bronco Utd Buddies and the Gold Coast FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gold Coast FC booed when Bronco Utd Buddies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benny Dillon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bronco Utd Buddies's zone, Damon Peplow stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Berresford came out of the goal and Damon Peplow tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 27 minutes, Edmund Hodson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gold Coast FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmund Hodson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmund Hodson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thomas Berresford read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. A collision led to Bronco Utd Buddies getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Abraham Laws hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 48 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Damon Peplow sped through Bronco Utd Buddies's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thomas Berresford.

In the 55th minute, Jones Ambrose hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Bronco Utd Buddies's goal looked a bit too open when Damon Peplow came free, but Thomas Berresford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes Bronco Utd Buddies got a freekick which was hit by Tony Mcmillan. Jones Ambrose received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Murphey Mcroberts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Damon Peplow took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Thomas Berresford to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmund Hodson got free with Thomas Berresford in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 82 played minutes Bronco Utd Buddies got a freekick which was hit by Tony Mcmillan. A collision led to Bronco Utd Buddies getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Tony Mcmillan hit a great ball. Thomas Berresford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damon Peplow, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gold Coast FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Damian Dowsing in the 88th minute. Damian Dowsing made a great header on Gold Coast FC's corner, it was just that Bronco Utd Buddies's Thomas Berresford managed to reach the ball for a save. Edmund Hodson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gold Coast FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
