After having played for 10 minutes, Payton Kiel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. fc sturt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Payton Kiel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gregg Gilding made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neville Kile in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, fc sturt's Handley Dollimore got a free kick in the 13th minute. Darin Tout blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tobie Missen having to make a save. Payton Kiel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rich Dillon's late challenge caught a fc sturt's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Apunyal's zone, Roger Andrews stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tobie Missen came out of the goal and Roger Andrews tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neville Kile in the 28th minute of play forced fc sturt's goalkeeper Gregg Gilding to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roger Andrews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Payton Kiel struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Tobie Missen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for fc sturt. 36 minutes into the match, Roger Andrews dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tobie Missen, 1-0. With a little luck, Apunyal's Tobie Missen got control of the ball when Payton Kiel tried to sneak it across the goal line.

In the 53rd minute Neville Kile shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregg Gilding saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. fc sturt's Gregg Gilding proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save fc sturt from getting a goal against them. Gregg Gilding showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neville Kile, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After 72 played minutes Apunyal got a freekick which was hit by Pearce Devine. If Roger Andrews had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. fc sturt's Gregg Gilding proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save fc sturt from getting a goal against them. The tension between the fc sturt and the Apunyal players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to fc sturt getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Remington Pegrum hit a great ball. In the 84th match minute, fc sturt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dale Grandison to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute, Pearce Devine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roger Andrews recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Neville Kile had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. fc sturt were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
