Bruce Lorenz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacobs Paddle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Tugun Jets FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Russel Dobbing hit a great ball. In the 26th match minute, The Nations Best was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kane Pinkerton to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the game Remington Heath kicked a great long shot which passed Bruce Lorenz straight ahead into the goal, Result 3-0. One couldn't see Remington Heath behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Jacobs Paddle sped through The Nations Best's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bruce Lorenz. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

One of Tugun Jets FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of The Nations Best:s goal. The referee gave The Nations Best a penalty, 53 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Navin Pinhey, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tugun Jets FC's Darryl Phillips. 4-1. After having played for 58 minutes, Burns Claringbold managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tugun Jets FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Burns Claringbold was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bruce Lorenz came out of the goal and Jacobs Paddle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Belton Coleman fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tugun Jets FC's protests and gave Belton Coleman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th minute, Belton Coleman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kevin Neich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind The Nations Best's goalkeeper Bruce Lorenz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Jacobs Paddle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Tugun Jets FC had played much better football throughout.
