The referee ignored Auckland FC's protests and gave Ollie Sobezak a yellow card for diving instead. Brock Tenser charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brock Tenser the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Auckland FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Brock Tenser hit a great ball. Dakota Missen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Nash Watson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Berry Pustak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience was convinced that Nilson Richard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nash Watson was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. 68 minutes into the match, Auckland FC's goalkeeper Nash Watson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dakota Missen. Auckland FC's Nash Watson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Auckland FC from getting a goal against them. Ollie Sobezak kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 97th minute Nilson Richard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nash Watson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
