Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Cassidy Curtis kicked off to start the match. Larkin Mcjunkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Mckinley in the 11th minute of play. Martyon Baxter kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Braedan Sylvester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andre Moon in the 15th minute of the match. Cassidy Curtis scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Braedan Sylvester, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Brendon Batterham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 29th minute, Arthur Kinsey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the match, Brendon Batterham had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Larkin Mcjunkin. Melton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brendon Batterham was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Brendon Batterham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Larkin Mcjunkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Dan Mckinley made the kick off in the second half. If Cassidy Curtis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 played minutes West Coast Slammers got a freekick which was hit by Neal Chant. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carman Gray during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cassidy Curtis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Braedan Sylvester read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Melton's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Mckinley came free, but Larkin Mcjunkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Melton's Cassidy Curtis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Braedan Sylvester. That made the score 1-3 after 72 minutes of play. Melton's Larkin Mcjunkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Mckinley in the 77th minute of play. Braedan Sylvester made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andre Moon in the 81st minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Dan Mckinley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. West Coast Slammers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dan Mckinley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cassidy Curtis's late challenge caught a West Coast Slammers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cassidy Curtis helped the player get up and apologised. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Melton walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
