Edgar Smalley's late challenge caught a PEPE United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgar Smalley helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes BVB09 got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Smalley. In the 22nd minute Amos Keam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Jerico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. BVB09's Edgar Smalley got his second yellow card of the match in the 25th minute. The referee ordered Edgar Smalley off the ground. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Alford Yard sped through BVB09's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Henry Matthes. The audience was convinced that Alford Yard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henry Matthes was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. If Amos Keam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alford Yard in the 41stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Henry Matthes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amos Keam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Phillip Dorrell during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
