If Abe Hayman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Matthew Petty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brent Bowie having to interfere. With a little luck, Elalie's Brent Bowie got control of the ball when Matthew Petty tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brent Bowie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Meyer Orvad in the 36th minute of play. After some careless play in the MooPee United defense, Iggi Connolly kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Larry Coburn. The MooPee United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Larry Coburn should have stopped the shot. Meyer Orvad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Meyer Orvad to make the kick off. Iggi Connolly struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Larry Coburn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elalie. Abe Hayman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Bray Brophy in the 59th minute really tested Larry Coburn's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 61 minutes into the match, Elalie's Abe Hayman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Larry Coburn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, MooPee United's Matthew Petty got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Larry Coburn made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Iggi Connolly sent off a good shot on target. The MooPee United fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when MooPee United's Meyer Orvad looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Bran Stevenson's late challenge caught a Elalie's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bran Stevenson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, MooPee United's Bran Stevenson got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 78thth minute of the game Abe Hayman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MooPee United's Larry Coburn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. MooPee United's Meyer Orvad got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brent Bowie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Meyer Orvad, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Meyer Orvad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brent Bowie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew Petty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elalie's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
