Spectators: 6831 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1831, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Arneil Tupman took the kick off in the first half of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Cuthbert's Roger Freeman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sam Kinnaird narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arneil Tupman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Arneil Tupman fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Westside Cogs's protests and gave Arneil Tupman a yellow card for diving instead. Arneil Tupman hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. If Roger Freeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Westside Cogs's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bleyd Brien was slow to take the kick. During this time Cuthbert's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Cuthbert's corner Bleyd Brien fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sam Kinnaird quite easily take care of the ball. Ace Mcroberts kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Boyd Gannan got free with Dario Quinn in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute Arneil Tupman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dario Quinn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bob Vickery hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute Cuthbert were awarded a corner. Bleyd Brien went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Cuthbert's Bleyd Brien to fire away a dangerous shot which Sam Kinnaird despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Sam Kinnaird made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Russel Ramsay in the 38th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Russel Ramsay to make the kick off. Bleyd Brien was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 62nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Sam Kinnaird showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Russel Ramsay, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Roger Freeman fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ben Eicke's late challenge caught a Cuthbert's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ben Eicke helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Westside Cogs getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Ben Eicke hit a great ball. Sam Kinnaird made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Roger Freeman sent off a good shot on target. Russel Ramsay took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sam Kinnaird. Sam Kinnaird dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Sam Kinnaird took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Russel Ramsay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Boyd Gannan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dario Quinn was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After having played for 87 minutes, Brayden Nolan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Westside Cogs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brayden Nolan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Aron Rowden came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Cuthbert fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aron Rowden couldn't finish the play. If Russel Ramsay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cuthbert played a much better game than Westside Cogs and deserved their victory. The Westside Cogs players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
