The supporters of Bringelly booed when Kentville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clark Stockwin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ned Stevens came out of the goal and Herbert Eicke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ned Stevens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Eicke in the 30th minute of play. Kentville's Ned Stevens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Eicke in the 31st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Kentville's zone, Herbert Eicke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ned Stevens came out of the goal and Herbert Eicke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Preston Mudie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ned Stevens having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Herbert Eicke had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ned Stevens. Kentville's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herbert Eicke was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ned Stevens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herbert Eicke's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. In the 47th minute Herbert Eicke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ned Stevens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Herbert Eicke who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Ned Stevens when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eavan Odonahoo during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
