The referee showed Ian Sparks the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Myrtou FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave St Georges Basin United the free kick. Bran Rear scored 2-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernie Gilding, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. St Georges Basin United's Bernie Gilding played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bran Rear in the 74th minute of play. If Dagan Stageman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dagan Stageman came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the St Georges Basin United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dagan Stageman couldn't finish the play. Ian Sparks hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. If Best Harkness had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bran Rear sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dagan Stageman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Brye Wenham made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Myrtou FC had won after a very even match.
