Zvezda's Martyon Nobes got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacobs Aylwin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Everett Potter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of C. Zvezda booed when Casa do Benfica em Sydney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elliot Walkington didn't get a good kick on the ball. C. Zvezda's Nelson Burmeister shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 26th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jacobs Aylwin but with some difficulty. Burns Quinane kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Damian Turnbull fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonty Freel having to interfere. Brooks Hardiman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonty Freel having to interfere. Lowrey Byrnes charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lowrey Byrnes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd minute, Lowrey Byrnes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 38 played minutes Casa do Benfica em Sydney got a freekick which was hit by Bradshaw Keam. After having played for 39 minutes, Nelson Burmeister managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. Zvezda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelson Burmeister was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyon Nobes in the 42nd minute of play forced Casa do Benfica em Sydney's goalkeeper Jacobs Aylwin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C. Zvezda's Martyon Nobes got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Martyon Nobes made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Martyon Nobes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobs Aylwin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 54 minutes of play, C. Zvezda's Martyon Nobes made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacobs Aylwin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Damian Turnbull fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonty Freel having to interfere. Jonty Freel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Turnbull in the 67th minute of the match. Edwardo Christina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Jacobs Aylwin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Everett Potter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edwardo Christina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacobs Aylwin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martyon Nobes in the 76th minute of the match. Burtt Watman's late challenge caught a Casa do Benfica em Sydney's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Burtt Watman helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, C. Zvezda's Burtt Watman got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Jonty Freel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Turnbull in the 84th minute of the match. Burtt Watman got his second yellow card in the match during the 86th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Burtt Watman hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Bradshaw Keam was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Brooks Hardiman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonty Freel having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Casa do Benfica em Sydney players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for C. Zvezda.
